local talk is proud to present the first release on their sub-label 1nce again. this is where we bring back classic and forgotten house gems from back in the day with new mixes and reworks. with the second release on local talks reissue sub label, 1nce again we bring back one of our personal underground favourites from the golden age of house music (the early 90s). back in 1994 mateo & matos released an ep on black label records entitled raw elements, which included an amazing cut called >maw basics<. its one of those raw 90s house jams that got the house bump but without the pump, its rough and funky but still deep if you know what we mean? no cheese in sight! together with the original track (now fully re-mastered) we also asked gerd (4lux, ny stomp) to make a remix that would stay true to the original but still bring it to the next level. the result is absolutely amazing and we are pretty confident that this baby will deliver knock out punches every time it blasts through a massive sound system in a proper club.

jay bliss is our first ever romanian signing. there has been a influx of superb romanian producers over the last years including a:rpia:r and the trend continues with bliss and his hermanndstadt collective. developing a style sitting somewhere between house and techno, with strong detroit roots he has released for the likes of immigrant, hudd trax and diynamic. pluto has been a staple of ralph lawsons sets for a while now, its a smooth and crisp tech house roller that recalls classic 2020 releases gone by, especially those of carl finlows. on the flip weve turned to skudge to give us their own take on pluto. weve been fans of skudge since they dropped their first single, and have had us transfixed with their excursions into pure analogue, loopy, dub techno ever since. their version of pluto is a different beast to the original, all stuttering percussion and menacing strings, a perfect counterbalance to the original version

dfa has long been a favourite at the bitches hq and we were chuffed to be asked to remix one of our favourite acts, the rapture. we certainly were not shy and dove headfirst into this mix bringing out the guitars and the lovely beach boy-esque harmonies twisting it into an indie-electro-house dance floor stomper. its not for the wallflowers to be sure.dfa have released this goodie digitally, but as we bitches love our biscuits, we had to see it released on vinyl. and of course, we must ensure premium sound quality so this release is 45 rpm on 180 gram vinyl. happy listening.

third all jacks with more pumpin prime time action... the ltd vinyl only label of paul ritch, all jacks, returns for its third highly anticipated instalment. with no attention paid to the artists involved our sole focus is on the music and rightly so. with the first two all jacks releases picking up incredible support, we are certain that the latest will impress further still.

a shuffling mix of acoustic guitar riffs, licks, natural percussion and of course razs well known melancholic vocal lines all come together to generate a country folk feeling of the 60s. a dampened kick drives the energy deep and harmonicas seep into our minds and set our soul on fire. a fresh track for a hot summer day on the lake. acid pauli takes the track and acidizes it by adding, yep, acid lines and a very direct kick. the track gains more of a main time vibe, heightened energy and deeper bass allow this track to hold its own in a variety of set styles. the final mix is an open air anthem delivered from the sorry entertainers m. rux and lotti. using percussion of the same natural flavor and incorporating dirty synth lines, the two produce a heavier mix worthy of both dancefloors and home listening.

after ushering in a raft of releases from top talent over the last year that turned quite a few heads, we over here at thema thought it was time to assert our own opinions a bit more forcefully. we certainly appreciate all the support we garnered from the detroit drops courtesy of norm and terrence, and sliding over to the smallville end of the spectrum with rau and suburb certainly didnt lose the thread either. sometimes its easy to build a vibe on the backs of others rather than on simple merit though… with that in mind we have taken our own path since then, and the recent successes from beaner and laurine frost stand alone as the accolades keep rolling in. continuing on our outbound trajectory, we present the solo vinyl debut of gathaspar, the mysterious polish producer who has been making noise mostly in berlin and to the east.

this release has been a long time coming. all the way from russia, kirill tipo aka the saint petersburg disco spin club, has been catching our attention for some time now. so much so we asked him to take the reins for the launch of the new conservation dept. label. he obliged with three absolute belters!

our second release is the first solo ep from mia dora, >romanticise<. released on limited vinyl, this 4 track ep brings to life the mia dora sound, so carefully cultivated and realised over the last 12 months. drawing on a range of influences, they bring together the warm, subtle tones of garage, the deep impact of driving house, tinges of acid synths and the awkward hip hop inflected rhythms they are starting to make their own. each track leaves something to be discovered with each listen, refusing to stand still and switching up as they go. romanticise shows off the intricate and subtle approach mia dora take to club music, all the while making sure we cant help but dance. artwork comes courtesy of grampian mountains and swedish artist andy king.

after a successful release period of eintakts 10 years anniversary, the label appears with the 2nd part of the liquid garden series. eintakt s new compilation liquid garden chapter 2 makes this summer to a lithesome incidence. extraordinary airy and deep sound combined with dub tech elements, a congenial batty mix of distinct styles. bekeschus, einklang freier frequenzen, reynold and the marx trukker contribute their brilliant acoustic artwork to this team-playing vinyl.a very special attention must be given to the cover artwork, an enormous combination of graphic- and sound design. after building up a trigger for a kick drum and installing a special camera, our graphic designer astrid höffling shot a mass of abstract forms, that show the colourful exercise of the frequencies while running out of a speaker – a liquid movement of sounds. the musical range covers it all: from a bright hymn by bekeschus to some chunky dubtechno by einklang freier frequenzen and then all the way back with some uplifting moments for the deeper floors by reynold and multiple melodic house music sketches by the marx trukker. all artists present their creativity at full volume ranging from outstanding soundscapes to visual sensations, making liquid garden a total work of art.

just three months after the dropping of the 100percent analog tracks roland rat / brain storm (bnr075) we proudly presents two idiosyncratically interpretations by 2 legends in electronic music roland rat got reworked by techno pioneer and our hero lfo (warp records), who sampled the rat and moduled it to death. the second remix comes from >the baron of techno< dave clarke together with mr jones, who turned >brain storm< into a straight and dark pumpin monster. enjoy!

being the hopeless romantics we are here at circus company, when we fall for an artist we tend to do it head over heels. you may have witnessed this in the past with some of our dearest protégés, from dave aju to nicolas jaar. now we are embarking on the same kind of whirlwind affair with franck roger, the glow only just retreating from our cheeks after he won our hearts with the i take you up ep. like a well-seasoned casanova, franck has found the perfect way to follow up that first date with an even deeper reflection of himself as an artist, leaving us flustered and quite simply stunned by his charm.

our little dutch sun god onno knows best how to make the kids shine, and as expected, hes put together a breakwater just in time for beach season: whatever makes you happy glides on on the crest of the a1 groove with a heavy-duty surfboard. its laconic vocal work and dynamic drum rolls are echoed in the remix by nicola jah at coordinates b2. this italian producer dives into stiller waters, which of course run deep down into the vibrant ocean of sound. for the b1 onno provides similarly strong dancing material, shooting pool on the sundeck of his boat and knocking “8ball” into the hole of victory. finally, magit cacoon, our latest roster addition and the first woman on deck of the uy vessel, cruises via the digital route for her debut, an utterly deep remix of whatever makes you happy with bass that sets uy061s sails toward a blissful ending to the voyage

with the strains of re-ups freedom still ringing loud in our ears, dissonant prepare to unleash their first slice of summer goodness, a new two track selection from leix. the valencia born, barcelona resident has been exciting dancefloors of his home nation for the past fifteen years, regularly sharing the decks with the worlds leading spinners. with a preoccupation with fusing styles and sounds, a trait that is obvious in his own productions, leix ensures that his own work remains consistently fresh. the novo music boss own productions have already found the support of many of the biggest names in the industry and have seen their release on labels including fumakilla, monza, barraca music, inmotion music, melisma and more. his akane ep is leixs first excursion on dissonant and what a way to kick things off. lead cut akane is as perfect a fit as they come. a locked tight groove, devilish kick and a bubbling acid line that tricks us throughout with its undeviating trajectory. on the flip dumnezeu continues in similar fashion. an understated bassline pulses throughout, as a snare rasps and hats glisten a spoken vocal preaches. the gospel of the dancefloor.

as ajello say:the idea for a cover version of n.o.i.a.s looking for love was born a couple of years ago - an idea of alessandro piatto, younger brother of davide piatto, original member of n.o.i.a. as soon as alessandro proposed it,we asked whether we could have the original tracks but, unfortunately,they have been lost over the years.immediately his brother davide brought together the original lineup of n.o.i.a.and locked them up in the studio to record the voice from scratch and some of the synth parts. our intervention was first on the drums, replacing the original for a more uptempo beat, and then the bassline, shaping it to a more modern sound. the vocals were treated with filters and echoes,and we also added some new guitar parts and synth lines. it was an honour to us, ajello, to bring to light an italo-disco classic that has really influenced us and we have put all our efforts to create a version that is timeless, as much as the original.

we are overjoyed to get two of our favourite house producers onboard the local talk family for an amazing release. with two jacked up house cuts that goes perfect with the local talk sound it feels like we got a winner on our hands. first we go deep, real deep! sunday morning is the ultimate end of the night house cut that brings back memories of those melodic bobby konders productions. its a beauty! on the flip we jack things up with misdirection, a thumpin deep house cut with a chicago inspired groove that aims more for the floor but without loosing character. together the two tracks deliver the perfect local talk release. deep, old school, funky but most of all ... 100% house! local talk is talking to you!

odd002,kdim ep comes from a pair of german-based young guns glenn astro and imyrmind. the two artists met in 2007, both sharing a burgeoning interest and eclectic taste in music from a young age. they frequently began swapping beats, ultimately culminating in a very raw and yet mature sound, which immediately grabbed our attention. the a side is a sweet and sultry jaunt, complemented with hip-tugging beats. whilst their remixes on the flip side show off a unique and finely tuned ear for the dance floor.

i light another cigarette in the tittery the sparrow has landed. we have returned from our excursion to the modern and would like to share what we brought with you: some showtunes and a twelve tone row. the show, as it turns out to be, is our very own. we started out writing new material to perform on stage, after we had found out it was great fun to refrain our instrumentation to vocals, piano and bad acting. originally very attracted to the- as our label told us- very clandestine idea of releasing three 12inches with very limited playability for djs, we agreed not to ruin our dial friends and work on an album instead.
